High School Incident 11/20/25

UPDATE [11/20/25 at 12:39 PM]: The fire in the High School wood shop dust collection system has been extinguished. No staff or students were hurt. The Fire Department responded very quickly, and they are to be commended for their response and their diligence - sawdust fires are notoriously difficult to put out. The High School staff responded as they have been trained to do and thank you to the maintenance staff and Bernardo Castillo for assisting immediately. We will begin to assess the damage that hopefully was contained to the exterior of the shop.

[11/20/25 at 11:11 AM]: The High School was placed in a modified lockdown before lunch today, 11/20/25, due to a fire in the woodshop dust collector. Benton County Fire Department is on scene and all students and staff are safe. We will update you with more information as it becomes available.
