Mobile Vision Clinic at Ki-Be

Last week, Kiona-Benton City School District was excited to partner with Near Vision Institute to provide a FREE Mobile Vision Clinic for students in grades K-12. The clinic gave free full eye exams for students, as well as free glasses and fittings for 28 students! The mobile clinic was at the Kiona-Benton City High School on Tuesday, May 31st, and at the Kiona-Benton City Middle School for K-8th grade students on Wednesday, June 1st. A big THANK YOU to Subway in Benton City for generously agreeing to donate lunch for vision clinic volunteers on the first day.

According to the National Association of School Nurses, vision plays a large role in academic performance and uncorrected vision problems can have an impact on both academic success and health. The Near Vision Institute provides mobile vision clinic services across Washington state, with an emphasis on services for children up to 18 years of age needing basic eye exams or functional evaluations to explore issues related to learning or development.
