  • The Washington Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has just released a determination study for the Kiona-Benton City School District finding it compliant with the federal requirements for Special Education.  In a letter dated November 1, 2016, Assistant Superintendent Douglas H Gill from OSPI wrote, “We appreciate all of our efforts to provide quality programs for all students, and especially your efforts on behalf of students eligible for special education services.”

The district received particularly high marks for preparing students for further education, employment, and independent living.  We contribute that result mainly to the school-to-work transition program instituted by Ki-Be High School principal, Clay Henry and supervised by special education teachers Rick Harding and Donna Fluharty.  We commend them for their hard work in this area.

  • Parents of athletes at Ki-Be HS, this message is to inform you that we have now transitioned to online registration for all High School athletics through Skyward Family Access.  Once you have logged into Family Access you will see a message with the title “An Online Form is now Available to Fill Out”.  Click on the part that states “Fill Out Online Form” and then follow the directions.  Physical forms still need to be handed into the HS office.  Registration is open starting tonight and remember the first day of winter sports is Monday, November 14.  You’ll also notice that you’ll be able to begin registering your child for a spring sport.  Students who have any fees or fines will not be cleared for sports until they are paid or a payment contract is set up with the athletic director.  If you have any questions, please contact a HS secretary or athletic director for assistance.

Also, the Winter sports parent meeting is Tuesday, November 8 at 6 pm in the HS commons.  There will be help available for registering your athletes through the online process.

If you do not have Skyward Family Access yet, please follow the link below.
