Purchased Boomwhacker and Homemade Boom Pipes

After trying purchased Boomwhackers, homemade pipes cut from fluorescent bulb covers and also golf tubes, I discovered I much prefer the original, commercial, purchased set. The purchased Boomwhackers with their bright colors are easiest for students to identify pitches with, are more durable than fluorescent bulb covers, and have better resonance than golf tubes. I highly recommend them! Reading Rainbow has an episode called Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin featuring the group Stomp doing a routine called pipes that is a great lead in for boom pipe activities.

I have a few color worksheets for simple boomwhacker songs. Click here.
